Palakkad (Kerala) : The CBI Tuesday arrested businessman V.M. Radhakrishnan for the death of a former company secretary of the state-owned Malabar Cements and his two kids in Kerala in 2011.
Radhakrishnan is a contractor linked to the cement company, said sources in the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) who were tasked by the Kerala High Court to probe the deaths.
The bodies of company secretary V. Saseendran and his two kids were found hanging in their home near Palakkad Jan 24, 2011. He quit the job a few months before the incident.
Saseendran was opposed to the alleged corrupt deals of Radhakrishnan, the investigators said.
“Police did not do a fair job…we decided to seek a CBI probe and now we are all happy that he has been arrested,” said Sanal Kumar, brother of the company secretary.
Last year, the CBI filed a case naming two officials of the company and two others as accused.
After Saseendran’s death, his wife alleged that Radhakrishnan had threatened her husband. Radhakrishnan denied doing so.
