Congress sets up polls committees for Karnataka

New Delhi: As part of preparations for the forthcoming assembly polls in Karnataka, the Congress Saturday set up campaign committee and manifesto committees for the state.

The campaign committee includes three former chief ministers – S.M. Krishna, M. Veerapa Moily and N.Dharam Singh.

It also has party general secretaries Oscar Fernandes and B. K. Hariprasad as members.

A Congress release said the campaign committee will be headed by Veerana Maithikatti.

The 44-member manifesto committee is headed by K.R. Ramesh Kumar, while the election strategy committee is headed by former union minister C.M. Ibrahim.

Elections to 225-member Karnataka assembly will take place May 5.
