Guwahati: Leader of Opposition in the Assam Assembly, All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) MLA, Sirajuddin Ajmal was yesterday suspended by speaker Pranab Gogoi after he raised the issue of internally displaced persons.
Sirajuddin Ajmal had raised the issue of issuing certificates to internally displaced persons to protect them from unwanted harassment in the name of ‘foreigners’ during the Question Hour, later echoed by AIUDF MLAs like Serman Ali Ahmed, Abdur Rahim Khan, and others.
The speaker also alleged that AIUDF MLAs are using the house as bazaar (market), as they made noise.
