New Delhi: Eight people, including five bikers, were killed in separate road accidents in Delhi on Holi, police said Thursday.
Five bikers were killed in separate road mishaps while two pedestrians died after being hit by a car and a bike, separately. One person died after falling from a tractor-trolley.
The casualty numbers were the lowest recorded on Holi in the city in seven years, said Anil Shukla, additional police commissioner (traffic).
In 2012, 13 fatal accidents were registered on Holi.
The most number of casualties on the festival was in 2006 when 22 people were killed in 20 fatal accidents.
