New Delhi: Delhi based INSAAN International Foundation has welcomed the Apex Court order directing all NGOs who get substantial funding from the government to be brought within the ambit of the Right to Information Act (RTI).
The Supreme Court decision will bring all those NGOs who get funding from the government, although they are not controlled by them.
Famous RTI Activist and journalist Afroz Alam Sahil, Chairman of the INSAAN International Foundation, and its General Secretary researcher Kamal Kanta Dash has welcomed the SC order, saying that they have been fighting to make non-government organizations more accountable, adding that this will help bring more transparency in their functioning.
