New Delhi: The Centre for North East Studies and Policy Research (CNESPR), Jamia Millia Islamia is going to organize a programme on “From the Frontlines: Reporting and Reflections on Life and Death in the North East” which will be followed by a Panel Discussion on September 16, 2013 from 10 AM onwards.
As part of the programme, Prof. Sanjoy Hazarika, Director, Centre for North East Studies and Policy Research, Jamia Millia Islamia will deliver his Opening Remarks at 10.30 AM.
There will be presentations from 10.40 AM – 12 Noon by 1) Pradip Phanjoubam, Editor, Imphal Free Press and Fellow, IIAS 2) Kishalay Bhattacharjee, Editor (East), New Generation Media Pvt. Ltd., 3) Subir Bhaumik, Veteran Journalist and 4) Esha Roy, Principal Correspondent, The Indian Express.
The Panel Discussion is scheduled to be held at 12.15 PM on “AFSPA and Extrajudicial Killings: The Vanishing” and the Panelists shall include – 1) Babloo Loitongbam, Director, Human Rights Alert, Manipur 2) Ninglung Hanghal, Delhi Correspondent, The Sangai Express, 3) T. Lata Devi (Victim’s family) while Dr. Amarjeet Singh, Associate Professor and Mr. K. Kokho, Assistant Professor, CNESPR, JMI will be the Discussants.
The Panel Discussion shall be chaired by Prof. Sanjoy Hazrika, Director, Centre for North East Studies and Policy Research, Jamia Millia Islamia.
The programme is scheduled to be held in the Tagore Hall, Dayar-e-Mir Taqi Mir, Administrative Block, Jamia Millia Islamia.
