Shimla : Light rains have brought down temperatures in Himachal Pradesh’s picturesque tourist resorts, a Met official said Monday.
While Shimla and Manali witnessed light rains, other hill stations, including Kasauli, Dharamsala, Palampur and Kangra, saw thundershowers Sunday evening, the official said.
While Shimla saw a light spell of rain, nearby places like Kufri and Narkanda experienced moderate rain.
Manali town, which saw a low of 8.2 degrees Celsius Monday, experienced 5.2 mm of rain. It recorded night temperature at 11 degrees Celsius Sunday.
Kangra town, around 225 km from the state capital, experienced 21.2 mm of rain, the highest in the state. Sundernagar and Keylong towns saw 7.8 mm and 1 mm rain respectively.
Shimla, which experienced 4.6 mm rain, saw a low of 10.6 degrees Celsius, a fall from Sunday’s 15 degrees Celsius.
Hills overlooking the picturesque tourist destinations of Chitkul, a village close to the China border, in Kinnaur district and the majestic Rohtang Pass (13,050 feet), located 52 km from Manali, saw light snow, according to reports.
