AMU Firefox club attains glory

Aligarh: The Aligarh Muslim University Firefox Club secured first rank in a global level competition by generating maximum number of downloads of Mozilla Firefox browser for the month of January through their Campus Affiliate Button. The club has won special prizes for the said achievement.

The club has been actively involved in organizing several workshop and seminars for training and development on Mozilla’s project including Application development for Mozilla Mobile Operating System.

AMU Firefox Club was founded in January 2014 by a group of students of the Department of Computer Science, Aligarh Muslim University. Mr Saad Hameed, Training and Placement Officer (General), Mayank Rana (Outreach Lead), Sandeep Kumar (Developers Relation), Prateek Kumar Singh (Club Lead), Shweta Rathi (Communication Lead), Aafreen Khan (Event Lead), Anu Malik, Junaid Siddiqui, and Gaurav Paliwal are among the founding members of the Club. The club aims at promoting the open source Firefox Products and demonstrating the use of Mozilla Firefox Operating System.
