New Delhi: All India Momin Conference’s Haji Mohammad Imran Ansari has been removed from his position as the vice-president of the organization. In a statement issued today the Momin Conference clarified that Imran Ansari has been removed following his unauthorized meeting with BJP.

Action was taken following a Times of India report of Imran Ansari meeting BJP’s Harsh Vardhan in Delhi.

“During the 2014 Lok Sabha Elections, Haji Mohammad Imran Ansari used the All India Momin Conference for his own personal interests and wrongful purposes,” alleged Feroz Ahmad Ansari, Secretary General of the Momin Conference.

Momin Conference was formed in 1904 comprising of Muslim weavers. The tough stand of Momin Conference is also a signal that BJP’s attempt to woo Muslim voters has failed. BJP remains pariah for most Muslims. BJP Prime Minister candidate Narendra Modi failed to get any Muslim weaver to be a proposer for his nomination for the Varanasi seats. Muslim weavers form a significant number of electors in Varanasi.
