UAE provides $544 mn for needy West Bank families

Dubai : The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has provided two million Dirham (544 million dollars) in aid to more than 4,400 needy families in the West Bank during holy month of Ramadan.

The aid was provided through country’s aid fund Human Appeal International (HAI).

The 4,400 beneficiary families are based in the cities of Ramallah, Bethlehem, Qalqilya and Tulkarem and Tobas, Xinhua reported.

They received in-cash and in-kind aid from HAI as part of its 15 million Dirham (4 million dollars) aid plan was launched at the beginning of Ramadan. It runs till Eid al-Adha, the Islamic feast of sacrifice which will be Oct. 3 this year to assist about one million Palestinians, said WAM news agency quoted Ibrahim Rashid, the director of HAI’s Office in West Bank, as saying.

HAI’s in-kind aid for the four Palestinian cities included rice, thousands of iftar meals, food packages, gifts for children, clothes and free iftar banquets.
