Patna : At least four people — three women and a child — were killed when a house collapsed due to surging flood waters of a river in Bihar’s Nalanda district early Friday, officials said.
All the victims were members of a family.
“A two-storied building collapsed at Sohsaran bazaar because of the flood water of Panchani river in which four people died,” a district official said.
He said the water level in the river rose following heavy rainfall since Wednesday.
Angry residents protested against the district administration for not taking adequate preventive measures despite rising water level in the river.
