Hyderabad : Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao Tuesday said that he will not spare looters and cheaters and will not hesitate to send his son or daughter to jail if they are the culprits.
“We will discriminate the cheaters and looters. We will not spare the culprits. If they are my son or daughter, they will be sent to jail,” Rao said at a news conference after state-wide household survey. He was replying to a query about the apprehensions in some quarters that there may be discrimination against people from Andhra Pradesh settled in Hyderabad.
The chief minister, who recently accepted Hitler’s tag given by his critics and said that he is Hitler for thieves, reiterated that he is determined to provide corruption-free administration.
KCR, as he is popularly known, said the socio-economic survey conducted across Telangana Tuesday was part of his efforts to weed out bogus beneficiaries of various schemes.
The chief minister said the massive response of the people to the survey was a slap in the face of the opposition and those who were creating apprehensions and controversies.
The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) chief said some people who did not participate in the survey in Hyderabad on the ground that they are not availing benefits of any welfare scheme committed a social crime.
“You are living here. You get drinking water, sewerage facility, street lights, roads and other amenities. When the government is trying to find out what is total population and its requirements, you are not participating in the survey. This is a social crime,” he said.
