K.V. Thomas appointed PAC chairperson

New Delhi : Senior Congress leader K.V. Thomas Wednesday took over as the chairperson of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC), an official statement said.

Thomas, Lok Sabha member from Ernakulam in Kerala, will be heading the committee which was constituted Aug 14.

The PAC is an important committee which looks after the reports of the Comptroller and Auditor General.

In the 15th Lok Sabha, the PAC had been in the news for its draft report on the 2G scam which had alleged the involvement of then telecom minister A. Raja.
