Gaza: An eight-year-old boy was killed and three others wounded in a fresh Israeli airstrike Saturday afternoon on a house in the central Gaza Strip, medics said.
Ashraf al-Qedra, the health ministry spokesman in Gaza, told reporters that Hussein Ahmed was killed and three other civilians were inured in an Israeli airstrike on the central Gaza Strip town of Deit el-Ballah, Xinhua reported.
Al-Qedra said that the toll from Israeli Saturday reached nine, most of them children, while more than 20 other people were wounded in a series of airstrikes.
Earlier Saturday, five family members, including a 47-year-old woman and two other men were killed and 10 injured in an airstrike on al-Zawayda town near the central Gaza Strip town of Deir el-Ballah.
He also said that overnight, around 40 civilians including men and women, were injured in an Israeli airstrike on another house in Sabra neighbourhood in Gaza city.
The health ministry in Gaza said in a press statement that since the beginning of the Israeli large-scale air and ground offensive on the Gaza Strip in the first week of July, 2,100 Palestinians were killed and 10,550 injured.
While Israeli war jets have been striking on the Gaza Strip, militants fired more rockets into central and southern Israel. Israel Radio reported that a four-year-old boy was killed after a rocket hit his family house near the Gaza Strip.
Israeli war planes also threw flyers on various areas in the Gaza Strip urging the enclave’s people not to help militants and leave the areas from which militants fire rockets into Israel.
