Dr Salimur Khan, Fr Chiramel new Patrons of IKFS

Kuwait: The Indo-Kuwait Friendship Society has nominated as its Patrons Fr Davis Chiramel, founding chairman of Kerala based ‘Kidney Federation of India’ and Dr Salimur Rahman Khan, Professor at Japan’s Chuo University at Tokyo.

Dr Khan hails from Bhopal (India) and settled in Japan for the past 32 years. He is currently the chairman of Nadwa Islamic Education Center in Japan and also a ‘Hafiz’ (a person who has memorized the Holy Quran), said a release from the IKFS, a socio-cultural, non-religious, non-political, non-profit, friendship NRI association.

He holds a Ph D in Islamic Culture from Lucknow University. His Masters degree, in ‘Dawa’h’, was awarded from the Al-Mahad Al-A’li liddawah AlIslamiyah, Imam M Saud Islamic University, Riyadh (Saudi Arabia).

Fr Chirmal was on a short trip to Kuwait by the invitation of Kuwait Transplant Society. He said that he is very much honored to be patron of IKFS since Rajindar Sachar (former Chief Justice of Delhi High Court and head of the Sachar Committee) holds the title as Chief Patron along with highly distinguished personalities such as Dr Kiran Bedi, IPS, Sayyid Munawwar Ali Shihab Thangal, Padmashree Dr Alok Mehta, Dr Biswaroop Choudury, Sami Bubere, Dr M K Muneer, Advocate R B Sree Kumar, IPS, Sayid Nasir Thangal among others as patrons.

Dr Ghalib Al-Mashoor, president the of IKFS praised Fr Chiramel for his active involvement in various charity works in Kerala and his eminent contribution in the field of ‘Human Organ transplants’ by saving the life of hundreds of less fortunate people of the world.

Fr Davis applauded IKFS team for its involvement in various global day-to-day social issues and great concern over human rights violations, especially towards women and children in India, in addition to IKFS’ efforts for preserving both Arab and Indian cultural identities in various socio cultural activities, the release added.
