Islamabad: Progress has been made in the dialogue process between the government and Imran Khan’s party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to resolve the months-long political impasse in the country, a Pakistani minister has said.

After meeting PTI leader Asad Umer, Pakistan’s Planning and Development Minister Ahsan Iqbal said the follow-up talks would be held within a few days, Radio Pakistan reported Friday.

The minister said details regarding the proposed Judicial Commission on the alleged rigging during the 2013 general elections were yet to be finalised.

He said minor differences could be sorted out then and there if the intentions are right.

Iqbal added that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has directed the cabinet members and his party Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) members to remain calm to ensure a conducive environment for a dialogue.
