Abu Dhabi: The Emirates India Fraternity Forum (EIFF), Abu Dhabi chapter has conducted a free medical check-up programme on the occasion of 43rd UAE National Day celebration in co-ordination with Ittihad Medical Centre, Abu Dhabi.
Over hundreds of people participated in the event on December 5 to take advantage of the Free Mega Medical Check-up Programme as part of the drive for spreading greater awareness about the importance of health & environment, a release said here.
Services such as blood pressure check-up, blood sugar check-up, HCV test (Hepatitis C Virus), prescribed medicines, laboratory tests and discounted dental services and Body Mass Index Check-up were offered, it said.
A symposium highlighting the importance of health camps was addressed by Dr Viquar Azeem, MBBS (MD), Ittihad Medical Centre, who gave brief inputs of the benefits and features of medical camps, urged the participants to spread greater awareness about the importance of health benefits and congratulated the EIFF members for their selfless social service.
Dr Misbah Azeem, MBBS (Medical Director), gave presentation about healthy living. He explained the benefits of physical activity & healthy life style and explained how regular physical activity is one of the most important things for one’s health and how it reduce risk of cardiovascular disease and diabetes syndrome.
Ashpaque Kundapura, executive member of Emirates IFF welcomed the gathering and briefed participants about the social service works carried by EIFF. He also expressed his gratitude to the UAE government for a safe and healthy environment to live. The event was coordinated by Ashraf Bailor while Iqbal Pandeshwara proposed the vote of thanks.
