New Delhi : The union cabinet Monday decided to regularise all illegal settlement colonies that have come up in the national capital city till June 1, 2014, according to an official statement.
The decision to amend the existing guidelines for regularising all unauthorised colonies in Delhi brings forward the cut-off date for regularising these settlements from March 31, 2002, to June 1, 2014, the official statement said.
“This will provide the benefits accruing from regularisation to a large number of people in unauthorised colonies that have come in existence between March 31, 2002, and June 1, 2014,” it added.
Elections to the Delhi assembly are expected to be held in February 2015.
