Dev, 19, and his juvenile accomplice were held in south Delhi, a police officer said.

Four juveniles were held just a few hours after 22-year-old Khupsiangen was stabbed and robbed by a group of people near his home in south Delhi’s Mehrauli area Tuesday.

Police have ruled out that the attack was “racist”, saying it was a robbery. They also recovered the mobile and wallet which were taken by the attackers.

Khupsiangen had sustained a knife wound in his abdomen in the attack. He somehow managed to reach his flat where the building’s guard found him bleeding and informed his room partner. He was later admitted to Saket City hospital.

The attack was the third incident in a fortnight targeting people from the northeast. Nido Tania, a student from Arunachal Pradesh, died Jan 30 after he was attacked a day earlier over his appearance. On Sunday, two youths from Manipur were beaten up by a group of motorbike riders.
