Delhi assembly session gets off to stormy start

By IANS,

New Delhi : The first day of the Delhi assembly session – during which the AAP wants to pass the Jan Lokpal Bill – was stormy, with both the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Congress demanding the resignation of Law Minister Somnath Bharti for his alleged misbehaviour with African women.

The minister was caught in a controversy after he along with Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) supporters had gone to a house in a south Delhi locality after receiving complaints about an alleged prostitution and drug racket in the area.

Speaker M.S. Dhir had to adjourn the proceedings three times since the BJP did not let the house function each time it resumed. Party legislators trooped into the well of the house and shouted anti-government slogans.

Congress legislators also joined the chorus and demanded Bharti’s resignation.
