Led by DMK’s parliamentary party leader T.R. Baalu, the parliamentarians submitted a memorandum to this effect, said a party statement.

According to the DMK, India should move a resolution in the UNHRC next month for setting up an independent international agency to investigate war crimes committed by Sri Lanka between September 2008 and May 2009.

The resolution should also stress on setting up a body to monitor human rights violations particularly against journalists and others who voice views against the Lankan government, the DMK MPs said.
