Superintendent Police (SP) Faisal Kamran confirmed that two Frontier Corps (FC) personnel were killed as the suicide bomber blew himself up when troopers stopped him for security check near the Iranian consulate at the University Road area of Peshawar, the capital of Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa province, Xinhua reported.

He said the attacker who came in a Corolla car, wanted to enter the Iranian consulate. However, the troops did not let him succeed.

Some media reports said the bomber was dropped near the consulate by his two accomplices who later fled to an unknown place after the shoot-out with the FC guards, following the blast.

The injured people have been shifted to Khyber Teaching hospital where at least three of them were in critical condition.
