Islamabad: President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Saturday met Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif at the end of his private visit to the country.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed bilateral relations which Sheikh Khalifa termed “distinguished and developing”.
President Khalifa emphasised the UAE’s keenness on continuing support to the Pakistani people which would enable them to achieve development, stability and welfare in various domains.
They also exchanged views on a number of issues of mutual interest, both regional and international.
On his part, Prime Minister Sharif expressed his thanks and appreciation for the overall UAE support in a number of projects in various provinces and the humanitarian assistance for Pakistan.
He also lauded Sheikh Khalifa’s wisdom and leadership which enabled the U.A.E. and its people to achieve their goals. He said the Pakistani people had love, appreciation and pride for the Emirati leadership, government and people.
Among those who attended the meeting were Sheikh Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, advisor to the UAE president, Sheikh Tahnoun bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, the Abu Dhabi ruler`s representative in the eastern region and Isa Abdullah Al Basha Al Nuaimi, UAE’s ambassador to Pakistan.
From the Pakistani side, Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif and a number of senior officials of the province were present.
