New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal Saturday handed over a cheque of Rs.1 crore to the widow of a police constable killed by suspected liquor mafia men when he was on a raid in the capital last month.
On the eve of Republic Day, the chief minister presented the cheque to Savita Devi, widow of constable Vinod Kumar, at a programme at Chhatrasal Stadium.
Kejriwal had announced the financial assistance to the family of the constable earlier this month. He also wrote a letter to the family.
Vinod Kumar was beaten to death in south Delhi’s Ghitorni area while he was on a raid alongwith excise department officials.
