Sonia Gandhi Ji,
We are watching the performance of the UPA Government. This is to draw your kind attention towards only few issues, among many others.
Today, on 30 January 2014 you are going to inaugurate the AMU Centre at Kishanganj, Bihar. We are extremely appalled to experience that the UPA government is absolutely reluctant in sanctioning positions of teaching and non-teaching staff for the upcoming Off-Campus Centres of AMU.
The insiders of AMU do know it too well that developing the Centre at the cost of the AMU is not a very pleasant experience for the AMU. (Notwithstanding the fact that sections of AMU community and other informed people have said reasonably enough about the legalities of the Centres).
What we feel and experience that the UPA-2 has been be-fooling us by not sanctioning enough positions of teachers and non-teaching staff for the Off-Campus Centres. Nor does it grant sufficient fund for physical development of the Campus. This amply testifies that the UPA-2 is hardly sincere in this regard.
It seems the UPA-2 is interested merely in making announcements and to extract votes of the supposedly gullible Muslim minorities. Today morning, one Dr. Faheem Beg expressed his resentment and articulated fully well in the Vigyan Bhawan of New Delhi where you and the Prime Minister addressed a gathering from the platform of the Waqf Development Corporation. He was articulating, testifying his arguments with evidences collated by exercising the RTI Act 2005 wherein the PM’s 15 Point Programme for the Muslim minorities remain absolutely un-implemented.
Few years ago, the then Finance Minister (now the President of India), had announced a huge package of Rs 4.50 lac crores for the Muslim communities. Nobody knows what happened to this announcement, which may have alarmed other political forces to shout more on “appeasement”. This practice of the Congress has been harming the India’s Muslim minorities since many decades.
We expect a convincing response of yours to these concerns in Kishanganj,
Sincerely Yours
AMU Community
