No bias in UPSC Civil Services interview: Musharraf Ali, ranked 80 at UPSC

Hyderabad: Mohammed Musharraf Ali Farooqui, who qualified in the UPSC Civil Services Examination with all India rank of 80 interacted with Maulana Azad National Urdu University students who are preparing for the Civil Services.

He in his own humble style motivated the students and interacted with them for about two hours. He clarified their doubts and gave them tips. In general, he advised them to prepare notes, develop writing skills and work on previous question papers of about 10-15 years. He gave special tips for Prelims, mains and interview. In view of the negative marking in the prelims, he advised aspirants not to attempt about 20 most difficult questions in Paper I. For mains also he suggested that it is difficult to answer all the 25 questions, answering about 22 questions would be a good performance. Regarding interview, he specifically clarified the myth prevailing among minority community, and said that the UPSC Interview Board is most objective. He emphasized the point by revealing his score in the interview which is 215 out of 275, second highest, 217 being the highest.

Dr. Mohammed Abdul Azeem , Deputy Director, welcomed Mr. Musharraf Ali. Dr.Ali Hussain, Faculty, CSE Academy, briefed him about the activities of MANUU CSE Academy.

The Academy started in 2009 for giving coaching for Civil Services aspirants. The Academy offers a residential coaching programme for Minorities and girls at MANUU Campus, where the hostel and the coaching is totally free. There is a separate girls’ hostel. In the 2013 batch ,two aspirants cleared Prelims and one of them faced interview.

Mr. Shripad Bhalerao, IAS (Retd) , Consultant, MANUU CSE Academy , presided over. He congratulated Mr. Musharraf on his success and wished him all the best. The inter-action session concluded with a presentation of memento by Arsalan, who also proposed a vote of thanks.
