New Delhi: Prof. Sanjoy Hazarika, Director, Centre for North East Studies and Policy Research, Jamia Millia Islamia has been appointed by Najeeb Jung, Lieutenant Governor of Delhi as a member of the Committee set up to ensure the safety of the North East Community living in Delhi.
The Committee is headed by Delhi’s Home Secretary and includes various representatives of legal and professional groups and civil society.
The committee’s terms of reference include creating institutional mechanisms to enhance the safety and security of persons from North East and to promptly redress grievances.
