Colombo: Sri Lanka Wednesday released over 100 Indian fishermen who had been in jail for crossing into Sri Lankan waters illegally, the government said.
The fishermen were released by a local court in the north of the country, Xinhua quoted Fisheries Ministry spokesperson Narendra Rajapaksa as saying.
They were freed ahead of talks slated for Thursday in Colombo between India and Sri Lanka to end a longstanding dispute between both countries.
