Former Punjab deputy speaker rejoins Congress

New Delhi: The Congress Friday re-admitted former Punjab deputy speaker Bir Devinder Singh into the party.

“Congress president Sonia Gandhi has approved the proposal to admit Bir Devinder Singh, former deputy speaker, Punjab Vidhan Sabha in the party with immediate effect,” a party release said.

He had left the party in 2009 to join the Shiromani Akali Dal.
