Seven killed in Iraq car bomb explosions

Baghdad: At least seven people were killed and 49 injured Tuesday when a series of car bombs exploded in Iraq’s capital Baghdad, an official source said.

The attacks occurred in the morning when five car bombs went off almost simultaneously in eastern Baghdad, the source told Xinhua.

One car bomb was detonated in Sadr City district in eastern Baghdad which killed a civilian and injured nine, the source said.

Another one struck the nearby district of Jamila, killing a civilian and injuring 10 people, while three people were killed and 10 others were injured when yet another car bomb ripped through Baladiyat district in eastern Baghdad, the source said.

A car bomb went off at an intersection in Ur district in northeastern Baghdad, killing two people and injuring eight others.

Separately, a car bomb exploded at a commercial area in Karrada district in southeast of capital, which injured 12 people.
