New Delhi: Seventy-five percent of the people elected in the general election have at least a graduation degree, whereas 10 percent are matriculates, according to a report.
“The percentage of elected candidate with at least a graduation degree is slightly lesser than the 15th Lok Sabha when the figure was 79 percent,” said the report by PRS Legislative Research.
The report said those new Lok Sabha members who are not matriculates are 13 percent, which is 10 percent higher than in 2009.
“The number of members with a doctoral degree has also increased to six percent from three percent in the 15th Lok Sabha,” the report said.
