Dhaka : Bangladesh Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury will meet Indian Prime Minister-elect Narendra Modi May 27, a media report said here Sunday.
Chaudhury arrived in New Delhi Sunday to represent Bangladesh as Premier Sheikh Hasina would be travelling to Japan at the time of the swearing-in ceremony in Rashtrapati Bhawan.
“She will meet Narendra Modi at 1 p.m. Tuesday,” bdnews24.com quoted Nazmul Huda, Bangladesh’s Parliament Secretariat official, as saying.
India’s External Affairs Joint Secretary Sripriya Ranganathan received Chaudhury at the Delhi airport.
Chaudhury is also scheduled to meet Indian President Pranab Mukherjee at 5 p.m. Tuesday.
Chaudhury will return to Dhaka May 28.
