New Delhi: A two-day national meet on “Social Justice Lawyering” began here Saturday for bringing together lawyers working for social justice from all over the country.
The objective of the event was to interface grassroots perspectives with social justice lawyering by discussing key socio-legal issues from the rights perspective.
The programme was organised at Vishwa Yuva Kendra in Chanakyapuri area by the Centre for Social Justice (CJS), a socio-legal organisation working for access to justice and legal empowerment, and Lawyers for Change, an initiative of ECONET, which supports young social justice lawyers working at the district court level.
“The event was a platform to discuss key socio-legal issues from the rights perspective, to share learning and insights on social justice lawyering and to provide a platform for mutual exchange and building partnerships,” said CJS spokesperson Anuradha.
The meet will continue Sunday
