Acting on a tip-off, Sadar Sub-Divisional Magistrate Manik Lal Das led the three-hour-long raid.

“The value of the seized goods would be over Rs.20 lakh. The power tillers and the spare parts have been illegally procured from China through Bangladesh by a trader, Abu Salim Mia,” Das told IANS.

Das said Haque claimed that he had rented a room of his house to Mia and was not aware about the illegal procurement of the Chinese goods.

Businessman Mia is now missing and believed to be on the run.
