Raghvendra, who studied in Amity School in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, was rushed to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) after receiving a bullet injury in his head.

He was later shifted to Safdarjung Hospital where he died of his injury.

Additional Commissioner of Police Pushpendra Kumar told IANS that the bullet was fired from the pistol of Delhi Police constable Robin, who is posted at the Shakarpur police station.

He said Robin, Raghvendra, Shashank and another youth named Samrat lived in the rented room where the incident took place.

“After completing his day shift, Robin arrived at his room. He changed his clothes, put the pistol on a table and went outside for some work. In the meantime, Shashank picked up the pistol and targeted Raghvendra just for fun. But the pistol went off accidentally,” the official said.

Both Raghvendra and Shashank, who fired the pistol, hail from Ballia in Uttar Pradesh.

“Shashank has been arrested on charges of murder and a case of negligence has also been registered against the constable,” the official said.
