Gurgaon : All three Congress MPs from Haryana, and two from BJP remained absent from the state level orientation programme organized here for Saansad Adarsh Gram Yojana (SAGY).
Congress MP Dipender Singh Hooda, Kumari Selja (Rajya Sabha) and Shadi Lal Batra (Rajya Sabha) remained absent from the programme.
The BJP MP from Karnal Ashwini Kumar Chopra was also absent. These MPs did not disclose the reason behind their absence.
Gurgaon MP and Union Minister Rao Inderjeet Singh was also not present as he was abroad.
Haryana Agriculture and Development and Panchayat Minister Om Prakash Dhankhar, who was the chief guest at the event, Monday said that the aim of SAGY is to substantially improve the standard of living and quality of life of all sections of the population in villages by utilizing the available resources and providing more facilities there.
An MP has to develop three Adarsh Grams by March 2019, of which one would be achieved by 2016.
