Ghaziabad : Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav will visit Ghaziabad Dec 10 to launch two ambitious projects — construction work of the Delhi Metro extension project and an elevated road from UP Gate to Raj Nagar Extension.
Though there has been no official confirmation, the district administration and the Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) have started preparations for the visit, sources said Thursday.
GDA officer on special duty D.P. Singh said the chief minister would launch the two projects on that day.
GDA vice chairman Santosh Yadav said the elevated road project would cost Rs.750-800 crore, but would sharply cut travelling time between Delhi and Ghaziabad to approximately nine minutes.
The Delhi Metro line from Dilshad Garden to Ghaziabad’s New Bus Stand would have a 9.41-km stretch with eight stations — New Bus Stand, Arthala, Mohan Nagar, Shyam Park, Rajendra Nagar, Raj Bagh and Shaheed Nagar.
