Bhubaneswar : As many as 20 human skulls were recovered from under a bridge in Odisha’s Puri district Sunday, said a police official.
The skulls were recovered under the Kusabhadra river on Puri-Konark road, about 25 km from the state capital.
“We have recovered 20 human skulls from the bridge. Besides, three buffalo skulls and some bones were also recovered from the river bed,” said Nimapada Sub-Divisional Police Officer Subash Mohanty.
He also said that some puja materials including vermilion were found at the site.
It is suspected that it is the work of some tantriks, who carried out their rituals here.
However, the fact would come out only after thorough investigation, said Mohanty.
