Urmila Singh, who is chancellor of the university, stressed upon devising means for developing energy efficient and environment friendly solutions for sustainable development.

She said the professionals should maintain high standards of ethics in their conduct while taking up all kinds of challenges and added that their choices and decisions should enrich the lives of others.

“A true professional should rise above his own personal aspirations, not restrict himself up to getting an impressive pay package but focus on creating a prosperity package for the nation,” the governor said.

Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh said the capacity to create, organise and apply knowledge was the most important trait of every successful person.

“We have to adopt the latest techniques in the fast changing trend of technological revolution and adopt the same in our day-to-day working. In the present scenario, knowledge itself is expanding at greater speed and is a never ending process. The more knowledgeable a person, the wiser he is,” he said.

Extending felicitation to Jaiprakash Gaur, founder chairman of the university, the chief minister said the university has a strong and dynamic biotech and bio-informatics department.

“I am confident that it can contribute in a big way bringing out new technologies and inventions,” he said.

“I want each one of you to use the knowledge gained or will gain in your life only for progress, development and uplifting society,” he said.
