New Delhi : Prime Minister Narendra Modi Sunday said people of Maharashtra are ready to “punish” the Congress-NCP alliance in the state.
“Amazing atmosphere at the rallies in Sangli, Kolhapur and Gondia. Maharashtra is all set to punish Congress and NCP for their misgovernance,” Modi said in a tweet Sunday.
The prime minister’s tweet came from his personal account, after he addressed three rallies in poll-bound Mahrashtra Sunday.
“Maharashtra can’t be looted any further. For 15 years, Congress-NCP enriched their own pockets and were least bothered about the people.
“Cong-NCP ruled Maharashtra for 15 years and were in Delhi for 10 years. Yet, so many farmers of Maharashtra committed suicide every year. Why?” he questioned.
Modi added that BJP will “work for the farmers and villages of Maharashtra. At the same time we want industries and jobs to come to the state”.
He called for a stable mandate in favour of BJP.
“Stable mandates can do wonders. A full majority for BJP will ensure record development of Maharashtra,” he said.
Sunday was Modi’s second day of whistle-stop election tours in Maharashtra and he is expected to address 20 rallies in nine days around the state.
