Haryana electorate will not forgive looters: Modi

Jind (Haryana) : Prime Minister Narendra Modi Saturday said that Haryana had been looted in the past 25 years by five leading political families and the voters in the state would not forgive them.

“Haryana’s people will not forgive the looters. In past 25 years, five families have ruled Haryana. Behind the scenes, they used to have a setting to loot the state for five years each. These things will change now,” Modi said while addressing a rally in Jind town Saturday.

Modi said that pollsters had predicted a BJP majority or BJP in the lead in the Oct 15 assembly elections. “If they see the turnout of the rally today and other rallies that I have addressed, they will realise which way the wave is,” Modi said.

Calling upon voters to ensure majority for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Modi said that crime and insecurity were issues which people were concerned about.

“We have to end this era of crime. Youth from Haryana are migrating to other places. Women in Haryana feel insecure from local goondas. This has to change,” Modi said.

Referring to the adverse sex ratio in Haryana, Modi said: “Haryana has the worst sex ratio in the country (870 females to 1,000 males). Out of the 15 worst districts in sex ratio in the country, nine are in Haryana. Due to this, young men in Haryana cannot find enough girls to get married.”
