Aligarh: Professor Akhtar Haseeb, Dean, Faculty of Agriculture Sciences and Chairman of Department of Plant Protection, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) has been appointed as the Vice Chancellor of Narendra Dev Agricultural and Technology University, Faizabad, Uttar Pradesh.
The Governor of Uttar Pradesh and Chancellor of Narendra Dev Agricultural and Technology University, Shri Ram Naik has appointed Professor Haseeb as the Vice Chancellor for a period of three years, Zeeshan Ahmad, assistant PRO AMU said in a release.
Professor Haseeb has an experience of teaching, research and administration for over 30 years and around 144 of his research papers have been published in various journals. Prof Haseeb’s areas of specialization include Botany (Plant Pathology and Nematology), Plant Protection and Agricultural Productivity.
He is regularly invited for guest lectures at various universities at the United States, United Kingdom, Italy, France and China.
Besides being a professor, Prof. Haseeb is a team member and Chairman, Consortium Advisory Committee (CAC) for National Agriculture Innovative Project (NAIP) of ICAR, New Delhi. Professor Haseeb has also been associated with the School of Plant Protection, IARI, New Delhi.
Further, he has served as member, Board of Management of Forest Research Institute and Chairman, Research Advisory Committee, Bioved Research Institute of Agriculture and Technology. Professor Haseeb is currently a Fellow with the Society of Mycology and Plant Pathology (FSMPP), Applied Zoological Research Association (FAZRA), International Society for Conservation of Natural Resources (FISCON), Nematological Society of India (FNSI), etc, the release added.
