Islamabad : A special court here Friday reserved judgement on dismissing the high treason case against Pakistan’s former president Pervez Musharraf and others till Nov 21.
A three-judge bench headed by Justice Faisal Arab resumed hearing of the case earlier in the day during which Musharraf’s counsel Farogh Naseem submitted a rejoinder in the court, Geo News reported.
A cutting of former Punjab governor Khalid Maqbool’s statement published in Daily Dunya newspaper was also presented before the Bench in which he had mentioned that everyone including he was taken into confidence over the emergency imposed Nov 3, 2007, lasting until Dec 15, 2007.
Naseem argued that all the lawmakers who approved the Nov 3 action were supporters and allies in abrogating the constitution and imposing emergency, and therefore they should be tried jointly.
On this, Justice Faisal Arab remarked that lengthy arguments were presented by both the parties, and hence some time would be required to finalise the judgement.
