Hyderabad: The All India Majlis Itihadul Muslimeen leader Asaduddin Owaisi has once again been drawn into a controversy purported to his alleged remark, which he clarified that he never made.
A pamphlet allegedly attributed to the MIM leader, and featuring his picture is circulating on social-media, where he is quoted as saying: “Hindus should not consider Indian Muslims separated from their fellow Muslims of Pakistan. If India dares to attack Pakistani, 250 million Indian Muslims will join Pakistan army to wage war against India.”

The story was first reported by Kashmir Observer, but they have since pulled down the article. However, the damage has already been done, as several other media, including Daily Bhashkar, OneIndia, , etc – particularly the online media – picked it up, in their rush to get more hits, without verifying the news.
Owaisi has, however, denied that he ever made such a statement and has now threatened to take legal action. In a series of tweets, Owaisi strongly denied making any such statement, calling it “nonsense”. He said that the pamphlet attributed to him is “false, wrong (and) untrue.”
He challenged the veracity of news saying that if anyone has the evidence, s/he should file a case against him. “If someone believes the nonsense of some pamphlet or news of some Jammu based researcher file a criminal complaints against me in court,” he wrote on the micro-blogging site.
He further tweeted: “For the last time I am reiterating this is not true if one still has a problem tough I also would like to know who created this pamphlet.” Threatening legal actions, he said, “”My lawyer will send legal notice to the paper. If they apologize, it is fine; if not I will file a defamation suit against them,”
