Gold Coast (Australia) : Australia recorded a 20-run win in the final women’s Twenty20 International against Pakistan to make a clean sweep of the series 4-0 at the Kerrydale Oval here Friday.
After winning the toss and electing to bat, Australia put on 139/3 from their 20 overs which the visitors failed to chase down, finishing at 119/6.
Meg Lanning was named player-of-the-match for her unbeaten knock of 46 while Elyse Villani was named player of the series for finishing as the leading run-scorer with 181 runs at an average of 60.33.
Openers Villani (42) and Delissa Kimmince (28) got their side off to a solid start, putting on a 64-run partnership before Villani was bowled by Anam Amin (1/18). Captain Lanning raced to an unbeaten 46 from 28 balls, including four fours and a six.
Pakistan put on a competitive run chase with Bismah Maroof (39) and Marina Iqbal (38) scoring the bulk of their side’s total. Rene Farrell (2/20) and Kimmince (2/26) claimed two wickets each while Erin Osborne (1/25) was the leading wicket-taker for the series, finishing with seven scalps at 8.85.
