IUML National Executive meeting

Apart from such announcement the party meeting passed certain regional, national and international resolutions calling upon the countrymen, secular parties, state governments and present central NDA government to look into their agenda and demands.

The IUML meeting expressed its deep sense of appreciation for the most admirable work of rescue, relief, restoration and rehabilitation in Jammu & Kashmir undertaken with a missionary zeal by our Armed Forces. The meeting resolved that on behalf of IUML a token of Rs. Twenty Five Lakhs be sent for the Kashmir Relief work through the Prime Minister Relief Fund.

The meet recorded concerns over the nefarious role of Sangh Parivar outfits to create communal tensions by propagating falsehoods of love jihad and religious conversions and wickedness of the ruling party to pamper to communal sentiments of the majority community aiming at polarisation of votes to consolidate the power. The meeting urged Government of India and Government of all states to take bold steps to contain communal violence.

The IUML meeting also appealed the Government of India to desist from attempts to meddle with educational system of India as it strongly feels the educational policy of the nation should be on the lines of molding a secular democratic republic upholding the rich traditions of this great country, cherishing the peaceful coexistence of various sects and communities. It urged the Government to restrain those who are bent on tampering the text books with communal tone and tenor.

It recorded its displeasure at the dismal performance of NDA Government to ameliorate the conditions of poor in this country. It urged the Government to take effective steps to continue Rural Employment Guarantee programs and Food Security schemes of the former UPA Government.

It also appealed the Government of India to implement plans for inclusive and balanced growth of the backward and downtrodden sections of the people, especially Muslims, who have been deprived of the fruits of development. It said that it is a hard fact that Muslims and all other backward communities live below all national indices of development and all the national commissions point out the necessity of positive action to ameliorate their situations.

It vehemently demanded the government to do justice to the national minority of the country and provide allocation of funds to carry on special plan components targeted for the uplifting of minorities in addition to its long pending demand of the Muslims to provide adequate reservation in Education and Employment and also to implement recommendations of Sachar and Justice. Ranganath Misra Commission.

The meet also urged all the parties to shun their narrow interests and to come forward to form a viable alternative to the present ruling dispensation. IUML calls upon all people to come out in support of secular forces so as to arrest the drift of national values of unity and integrity endangering by the Sangh Parivar outfits.

Expressing the solidarity with Palestinian people, IUML meeting strongly condemned the most inhuman act of Israel unleashing continuous war on Palestine people, and urged the world community to support the valiant people of Palestine who have been waging relentless struggle to have their homeland.

In this connection, IUML urged the Government of India to desist from its ambivalent attitude towards Palestine with tacit support to Israel.
