Islamabad : Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan is all set for his protest rally in Lahore’s Minar-i-Pakistan Sunday.
PTI leaders say rally participants will start arriving at the venue before noon, while the proceedings will begin around 5.00 p.m. and Imran Khan will speak around 7.00 p.m., Dawn online reported.
At the venue, PTI has installed a big stage with lighting and music system. Seating arrangements have also been taken care of.
PTI’s youth wing will see to the security at the venue earlier in the day.
Speaking to the participants Saturday, PTI Lahore president Aleem Khan said that Sep 28 would become a historic day, when Imran Khan would address the biggest-ever public gathering in the country.
Earlier, Imran Khan said that the Pakistan Resolution was passed at this venue on March 23, 1940, and now people would pass a “Naya Pakistan Resolution” Sep 28.
Imran Khan and Tahir-ul Qadri’s Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) have been staging anti-government protests since Aug 15 seeking Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s resignation over alleged rigging in the 2013 general election.
