The basis for an agreement for a peaceful Iranian nuclear programme and a lifting of sanctions against Iran has been reached, Mogherini announced. “We have reached solutions on key parameters of a joint comprehensive plan of action,” she said.

Announcing key elements of the deal, Mogherini said that Iran’s enrichment capacity and stockpile will be limited, and its sole enrichment facility will be at the Natanz nuclear facility. Other nuclear facilities will be converted for other uses, she added.

US Secretary of State John Kerry tweeted that “parameters to resolve major issues” have been reached.

Earlier, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani also tweeted: “Solutions on key parameters of Iran nuclear case reached. Drafting to start immediately, to finish by June 30th.”
