Chennai : PMK founder S.Ramadoss on Thursday termed it “sad” that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has not condemned killing of 20 people from Tamil Nadu by the Andhra Pradesh Police or even condoled their death.
He demanded Modi should either order a probe by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) or by a sitting Supreme Court judge and also announce a compensation of Rs.25 lakh each to the kin of the victims.
“It is sad that Modi condemned the killings of Japanese and Europeans by ISIS but has not condemned the killings or has condoled the death with the families of the victims,” Ramadoss said in a statement issued here.
Ramadoss, whose PMK is part of the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance, said while there was unrest in Tamil Nadu over the issue, but Modi had not reacted.
“In such situations, the prime minister should have got in touch with both the chief ministers and consoled the bereaved families. He should have also suggested a CBI probe as the issue involves two states,” he said.
He also demanded Modi order the release of 3,000 Tamilians languishing in Andhra prisons.
