17 pilgrims from Madhya Pradesh missing in Nepal

Shahdol (Madhya Pradesh) : Seventeen pilgrims from Madhya Pradesh’s Shahdol district have been reported missing in Nepal since a 7.9-magnitude earthquake rocked the Himalayan nation on Saturday.

These people had gone to Nepal to pay obeisance at the famous Pashupatinath temple in Kathmandu. But there has been no news about their whereabouts and their mobile phones too were unreachable, one of their family members told reporters.

A relative of Kapil Burman, one of the missing pilgrims, said he had a word with him on Saturday morning and since then there has been no news from them.

Ashok Bhargav, a district official, told IANS the Indian embassy and the Indian government have been informed about the missing people from Shahdol in Nepal.

The contact numbers of the relatives have been shared with the Nepal embassy in New Delhi, the official said.
